Who we are CARTOON is an international non-profit association based in Brussels whose mission is to support the animation industry. Founded in 1988, the organisation focuses on creating year-round opportunities for animation professionals to meet, exchange and develop their projects. CARTOON operates with a European outlook and benefits from co-funding by the Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme. Core activities At the heart of CARTOON’s work is the organisation of several types of events dedicated to animation professionals. These events are designed to: Facilitate networking and collaboration between creators, producers and industry stakeholders. Create marketplaces and professional forums where projects can find partners and visibility. Host presentations, panels and focused sessions that address the practical challenges of production, financing and distribution. Approach and methodology CARTOON approaches its mission with a professional, inclusive and industry-driven mindset. By curating a varied programme across the calendar year, the association ensures that animation professionals encounter relevant formats and moments for exchange—whether that be large gatherings, targeted sessions or open networking opportunities. The organisation’s work is shaped by close listening to the sector’s needs and by maintaining strong links with European funding mechanisms.
